Family Member Visa (EEA)

An EEA Family Permit allows family members of EEA nationals to enter the UK with a view to living here with their EEA family member.

Family members of EEA nationals are able to apply for an EEA Family Permit until 31 December 2020.

However from January 2021 all applications should be made under the European Settlement Scheme (EUSS).

Direct family member of an EEA national, can apply under the much simpler EUSS straight away and do not need to use the EEA route.

Extended Family Member of an EEA national (e.g. unmarried partner, niece, nephew etc) need to apply for an EEA Family Permit to enter the U.K. After arriving in the UK, they can then apply under the EUSS.
